Ailey II is coming to Columbus Palace Theatre, November 6

Ailey II is a world renowned dance group in the professional division of 17-24 year olds. A second company of the prestigious Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater in Manhattan.

In order to be part of the group you need to be a full time student at the Ailey School and be personally invited to audition. Accepted members receive full tuition to the school along with the opportunity to perform a world tour.

Ailey II started their 2014-2015 tour in September in Maryland and have made several stops in the United States since then including New Hampshire, Vermont, Minnesota and Wisconsin. They have also had international performances in Kingston, Jamaica and Ontario, Canada. Shortly after their Columbus performance they will head to France for a two day show in Rueil-Malmaison.

After two years with Ailey II many dancers graduate to be professional dancers, teachers and choreographers at the highest level including professional dance companies, Broadway, television, film and video.

You can also sign up for the once in a lifetime chance to take a class given by the Ailey II dancers on Nov. 6th at from 11am- 12:30pm in the Union. Both advanced and beginner classes will be offered. Sign ups will be accepted until Tuesday Nov. 4th at 5 pm or until all class spots are full. You must be a current OSU Columbus student with a valid BuckID.
