With Thanksgiving festivities over, the holiday shopping season has officially begun! Whether you prefer the excitement of 5am crowds on Black Friday or the comfort of clicking through deals on your couch Cyber Monday, this weekend provides plenty of opportunities to get a head start on all your holiday shopping. OUAB has you covered with our guide on this year’s must-haves and gift ideas for even the most difficult on your list!
5. Amazon Kindle
Welcome your book-loving Great Aunt Irene into the 21st century with a new Kindle this holiday season. Before you wrap it up though be sure to load it up with some great reads. Check out Ishmael Beah’s new novel “Radiance of Tomorrow” or the New York Times’ bestseller “This is Where I Leave You” by Jonathan Tropper. Tropper’s screenplay adaption featuring Jason Bateman and Tina Fey will be Wednesday’s Flick For Free on December 3rd.
4. James Franco Selfie Calendar
Wait…what? Yes, this is a thing. The self-proclaimed “Selfie King” recently took to Instagram to announce the release of his 2015 calendar featuring 32 pages and over 100 glorious Franco selfies. Perfect for that crazed roommate of yours that didn’t get enough of James when he was on campus earlier this fall.
3. Running Shoes
This year, why not get a gift for yourself too and get an early start on that New Year’s resolution with a new pair of running shoes? And with finals right around the corner don’t forget all of the OUABeFit events like Zumba, Yoga, or Barre to ease the stress of studying.
2. Pentatonix – “That’s Christmas to Me”
Since coming to The Ohio State University in late September, Pentatonix has had two albums climb as high as number 5 on the Billboard 200. In their most recent work, “That’s Christmas to Me,” the acapella group brilliantly covers classics like “Silent Night” and “Winter Wonderland,” making it a perfect gift for the holiday music enthusiast in your family.
1. Taylor Swift – “1989”
Speaking of hit albums, it seems Taylor has done it again with “1989.” And with her recent decision to pull out of Spotify, the only way you’re gonna listen to this album is if you purchase it the old-fashioned way. So if you haven’t yet, be sure to go out and grab your copy! And… if you’re feeling particularly daring, channel your inner TSwift and sign up to sing a cover of “Blank Space” at OUAB’s Open Mic Night in Woody’s Tavern Friday, December 5 from 6-8!
Happy Holiday Shopping from OUAB!
