Good news, Buckeyes: Spring Break is almost here! A week of fun, relaxation, and hopefully no schoolwork is just within our reach. Some people are going to the beach, while others are traveling to different cities. As always, most are going home to spend time with family and friends.
Don’t have plans? Here are five great ideas inspired from some of our recent OUAB events!
The “Stereotypical College” Spring Break
Two weeks ago, we all laughed along with Jimmy Tatro as he performed a stand-up show to which almost every college kid can relate. If you ask me, Jimmy would be the perfect addition to any beach spring break trip. Based on the stories he told during his performance, it is safe to say that Jimmy is always down for a good time.
The “Out of This World” Spring Break
Imagine spending your week exploring the cosmos with Dr. Brian Greene!
In collaboration with SASE, the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, OUAB brought Dr. Greene here earlier this week where he spoke about the string theory and the cosmos. Pick up Dr. Greene’s book The Hidden Reality and spend your days off learning about the multiverse and parallel universes.
The “I Need to Catch up on P90x” Spring Break
If you didn’t know, Tony Horton, the creator of P90x will be here on campus to host a workout and speak on Saturday, March 28th! Since I know all of you have been participating in our 90-Day Challenge, you can use your week off to catch up on your workouts! If you’re all caught up, keep going and finish strong! Tickets for the event are available now at the Ohio Union Info Desk!
The “Crafty” Spring Break
Are you super into arts & crafts? If so, Columbus has a ton of great art museums you could check out during your week off! The Wexner Center for the Arts is right on campus, and the Columbus Museum of Art is a short drive downtown. But get excited – on Monday, March 23rd, the famous Blue Man Group will be in Columbus performing a show just for Ohio State students!
The “Great Outdoors” Spring Break
Last but not least, are you looking to get out of the city? Ohio offers a bunch of fantastic hiking and climbing locations. Hocking Hills is only a short drive from Columbus, and offers a bunch of great hiking trails and climbing opportunities. Use these as a way to gear up for our newly announced event: An Evening with Rock Climbing Legends: Alex Honnold & Sasha Digiulian! The ticket release will be on Monday, March 23rd at the Ohio Union, with the lecture scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 2nd. We hope to see you there!
