An Innovative Solution to a Bad Case of “The Mondays”

As Ohio State students, we represent a diverse group of cultures, majors, beliefs and interests. However, one thing we can all agree on is that Mondays are the woooOOOoooOOOOrst!

In addition to planning dozens of events for Ohio State’s massive student body, OUAB has been researching solutions to excessive laziness, stress and irritability on Mondays. We believe we have come up with a groundbreaking cure for “The Mondays.” We like to call it “Live Art.” In order to mitigate the detrimental effects of “The Mondays,” we will be allowing students to stroll through the Ohio Union Performance Hall to observe local artists as they create original masterpieces in front of our very eyes. It is our belief that this therapeutic experience will effectively deplete the negative side effects associated with The Mondays.

We will be testing it out this upcoming Monday, April 3 in the Performance Hall. To find out if your symptoms qualify you for this new treatment, please continue reading.

You know that feeling when you have an 8 a.m. on Monday, but you spent the whole weekend dancing and you physically cannot move your legs to walk to class? Yeah, we’ve all been there.

Fortunately, this event will run from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., so you can rest assured that the event will still be running long after you’ve achieved your full beauty rest.
By some miracle, you make it to your 8 a.m., but once you arrive, you can’t work up the energy to focus on your professor’s lecture and his/her voice is probably the most monotone voice you’ve ever heard.

“Live Art” is innovative in that there is no lecturing or talking. Just painting and reflecting.
Nothing is worse than campus foot-traffic. I personally don’t have enough fingers to count the number of times I’ve done an awkward tango/do-si-do combination with someone on my way to class when we are about to run into each other.

Luckily, Live Art has no traffic patterns. You can feel free to roam to your heart’s content. Even if you run into someone, you can say “I’m sorry, this was awkward, but look at this beautiful art being created right in front of us.” Then you will probably fall in love and get married – all thanks to OUAB of course.

If you’re anything like me, your Mondays are hectic and you cannot be expected to plan out your meals, let alone cook them yourself. For those of you who have the privilege of living on campus, lunch is just as stressful. Ain’t nobody got time for those lines at Scott Commons.
At Live Art, we’ve got you covered. Various food items will be served ALL DAY. All you have to do is walk in and take it – we do all the hard work for you! Hope everyone likes bagels!

(Everyone likes bagels, I checked.)

The logic is infallible, people. Live Art is the only cure for The Mondays. Please come out to the Ohio Union Performance Hall from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. on Monday, April 3 to see some amazing local artists like Linda Langhorst, Yao Cheng and more!
