“The bond that links your true family is not one of blood, but of respect and joy in each other’s life” –Richard Bach
This quote may ring in the heads of Buckeyes this weekend as we celebrate our annual Sibs & Kids weekend! As if campus was not already happy enough, hundreds of Buckeyes will be showing their family members what it is like to truly be a student faculty, or staff member at Ohio State.
It’s no secret that this weekend is filled with food and fun, but in order to partake, you can’t forget to register! Registration is $5/guest and can be fulfilled on site in the Ohio Union from 9 AM-4 PM on Saturday and 10AM-12PM on Sunday. Registration gives you access to all the incredible events put together by several of Ohio State’s organizations, and the Ohio Union Activities Board has a couple things up its’ sleeve!
Have you ever seen America’s Got Talent? You know, the family-oriented show about those in America who have the most interesting and unique talent? Well, even if you haven’t, OUAB is PROUD to be hosting Daniel Martin in collaboration with Sibs & Kids weekend! At 6 PM in the Performance Hall of the Ohio Union, Daniel will be performing his hilariously unique magic show that has caused thousands in the United States to have their mind blown. He is the winner of a Reader’s Choice Award in 2016, taking home the title of Best Male Artist and Best Variety Artist on stage. His show is something you do NOT want to miss, as it will be an evening of laughter, magic and surprise!
If that isn’t enough for you and you feel like taking a trip out onto the high seas, join OUAB for a DIVE-IN SHOWING (that’s right, kids, DIVE-IN) of Moana! Join Moana and her quest to uphold her family traditions in the RPAC Open Rec Pools at 8 p.m. The doors open at 7:30 p.m., and you’re going to want to get there quickly – all voyagers need a spot in the water!
Sibs & Kids Weekend is an event that Ohio State is proud to host every year. It provides a chance for families to get closer and learn more about what it is like to be a Buckeye, something all people deserve a chance to be in their lifetime. Keep checking the schedule posted on the http://parent.osu.edu page for an updated list of events happening this weekend!
We hope to see you at OUAB’s events this Saturday, but we hope even more that you enjoy the time given to you with family.
